*Patrol Officer Applications available at the Ontario Municipal Building*

The City of Ontario will conduct a Civil Service examination for the position of entry level police officer on Friday March 17th, 2017 at the Ontario Municipal Building Community Room, 555 Stumbo Rd., Ontario, Ohio 44906. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. and the exam will begin at 9:00 a.m.  No admittance after 9:00 a.m.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens and present a valid driver’s license at the time of the examination. Candidates will be subject to psychological, polygraph, drug and alcohol screening along with a comprehensive background check. Must be at least 21 but not more than 34 years of age, and must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalence. Passing candidates who qualify in the top ten will be required to complete a physical strength and agility test. Starting pay is $20.28 and $27.00 at five years with excellent benefits.

NOTICE: Applicants are required to have their Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) Certification to apply or an exception may be granted if OPOTA Training is in progress but Certification must be complete by time of appointment.
